Whose Conscience Is This Anyway?
Discerning the “rules” of the personal conscience and uncovering the rules of the systemic conscience. Most clients get caught at the boundary between the two -- between the seen and the unseen. Together, we’ll explore meanings and ramifications for clients in everyday life. How are common client complaints metaphors for confusions that occur at the boundary? How can we tease out hidden manifestations in the client’s life and address them honestly and with courage? I will offer exercises to anchor understanding.

Students will explore:
How to carry out a strong interview to begin to identify relevant historical forces
Finding the nerve to pursue uncomfortable information
Tracking systemic issues and systemic resolutions in parallel

What to set up?
Identifying the potential in the family for the system to grow and develop. A good hypothesis is worth a lot. Hallucination vs. hypothesis. The facilitator process cycle.

My teaching approach is to provide you clear and useful concepts, then offer you experiential ways to engage with those concepts in order to make your learning real. I’m after “sticky” learning, that is, learning that sticks with you after the session that you can put into practice.
